How to keep a sagging breast firm

It is a known fact that every woman wants to have perfectly shaped breasts throughout her life. Sadly, this is not possible in most cases. Breast sagging is a natural process that happens with age where the breasts lose their suppleness and elasticity. A drooping pair of breasts can severely undermine how a woman feels about herself, and may feel it lessens her attractiveness in the eyes of the opposite sex. Learning what causes breasts to sag and tackling this issue proactively can be helpful.
CAUSES OF BREAST SAGGING OR FIRMNESS
Age is an important factor in the reduction of firmness in the breasts. Size is not important, but it is important to have a firm and properly-shaped breast if you want to keep your breasts healthy and effective.
According to various research, it is understood that when a woman reaches her late thirties, the skin of her body becomes loose and begins to show signs of aging. This is especially true in the breasts, particularly if a woman has gone through a pregnancy, according to the Oregon Institute of Breast Health Education.
The chest tissues become looser while breast feeding , therefore after nursing a child, breasts lose their firmness and shape, according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. It is safe to say that the main reasons or causes of reduced breast firmness are age and breastfeeding.
Some diseases are also connected to sagging, loose, or “fallen breasts”. Breast cancer or respiratory conditions like tuberculosis can cause a significant weakening of the cells and internal organ structure, so there is very little support for the breasts, and subsequently, they begin to sag and fall.
Also excessive consumption of nicotine, alcohol, and carbonated beverages have all been associated with premature aging of the skin and weakening of the cellular structure, so cut down on these damaging agents in your body, and you will probably see a positive improvement in the firmness of your breasts.
There are a wide variety of creams and lotions available on the market today to tighten and tone up skin, but these solutions often have a dangerous amount of side effects, so be sure to consult your medical specialist or gynecologist before starting this form of at-home treatment.
1. Exercise
Those with saggy breasts must incorporate exercise in their daily routine. Exercises that target breast tissues and pectoral muscles around the chest can help a lot to add firmness.
Some exercises that can effectively lift up and firm sagging breasts are– chest presses and pulls, arm raises, round-about push-ups, and dumbbell flyes.
Along with these, there are other types of exercises that you can perform to firm your breasts. Always wear a supportive or sports bra while exercising.
Chest Press
Chest press is among the best exercises that enable you to regain the breast firmness. Provided, you perform this exercise regularly,
sagging breasts will very soon become a thing of the past.
Process:
1. Take 2 dumbbells.
2. Lie down on the floor facing the roof.
3. Hold 1 dumbbell with left hand and the other one with the right hand.
4. Rest the hands on the chest.
5. Slowly stretch the arms in upward direction till they are completely extended.
6. The hands should be straight.
7. Remain in this posture for about 15 seconds.
8. Now steadily bring the arms back on to the chest.
9. Do 10 repetitions of this exercise.
10. Have this workout daily to get the positive result.
Arms Lift
If your priority is to correct/prevent sagging breasts, this exercise deserves to have your immediate attention.
Process:
1. Start at the normal standing posture with your hands resting on the sides.
2. Slowly lift the hands in the sideward direction, with the palms facing the roof.
3. Bring the arms above your head and let the palms come into contact with each other.
4. Remain in this position for about 30 seconds.
5. Then slowly bring back the hands to the starting position.
6. Do 20 repetitions of this workout at a time.
7. Perform this exercise for 3-4 times daily.
THE PROS And CONS OF EXERCISING
Let’s discuss the advantages of exercise on sagging breasts first. Even though the breasts are made up of only tissues and no muscles, regular exercises can help build up the pectorals by improving blood supply to the region. This in turn can prevent breasts from sagging in addition to making them firmer and perkier
Here are the disadvantages though. Certain exercises that involve bouncing like running, skipping etc. can work against the breast tissues and ligaments and stretch/wear/tear them, causing your breasts to sag. If you have large breasts, you would need to take extra measures to make sure that they don’t bounce too much while exercising. An easy way to prevent this is to wear a good quality sports bra while exercising. This would prevent your breasts from moving too much while exercising and prevent them from drooping.
2 . ICE MASSAGE
Ice massage is also considered very effective to regain firmness in sagging breasts and uplift them. The cold temperature will cause the tissue to contract, in turn making the breasts appear firmer and more lifted.
1. Take 2 ice cubes and massage them in circular motions around each of your breasts for 1 minute only.
2. Dry the breasts with a soft towel and immediately put on a proper fitting bra.
3. Stay in a reclining position for 30 minutes.
4. Do this at regular intervals throughout the day.
Note: Do not expose your breasts to ice for more than 1 minute at a time as it can cause numbness.
3 . CUCUMBER AND EGG YOLK
Another excellent remedy for lifting the breasts is a mask prepared from cucumber and egg yolk. Cucumber has natural skin-toning properties and egg yolk has high levels of protein and vitamins that can help treat sagging breasts.
1. Puree 1 small cucumber in a blender.
2. Mix in 1 egg yolk and 1 teaspoon of butter or cream to get a paste.
3. Apply it onto your breasts and leave it on for about 30 minutes.
4. Wash it off thoroughly with cold water.
5. Use this mask once a week to firm and strengthen the breast tissues.
4 . MASSAGE YOUR BREASTS REGULARLY
Massaging your breasts in an upward motion for at least 15 minutes every day (once in the morning and night for better results) can be advantageous for your saggy breasts. Repeated rubbing would generate heat and energy which in turn would improve blood circulation to the breasts. And this would in turn strengthen the connective tissues and muscles, thereby preventing breasts from sagging and improving the breast shape effectively.
Apply some almond oil or olive oil onto your palms (aloe vera gel would also do) and rub them together to generate heat. Place the palms over the breasts and rub them in an upward motion (clockwise direction with the left hand and anticlockwise direction with the right hand). Rub for about 15 minutes, making sure you rub your palms together at regular intervals in between to keep the heat flowing. With time, your breasts would start to look fuller and rounder.
5. SHEA BUTTER
Shea butter is one of the best natural remedies to beat the condition of sagging breasts. The vitamin E that you get in this butter is of immense value, when it comes to improving skin elasticity. The butter successfully fights against the free radicals there in your body, too.
Things you need:
Shea butter- ½ cup
Things you need to do:
1. Take ½ cup of shea butter.
2. Put the butter on your breasts.
3. Then slowly massage the butter around and on the breasts for roughly 20 minutes.
4. Allow it to be undisturbed for 15 minutes.
5. Now rinse with cool water.
6. Follow the process 3 times every week for best results.
6. WEAR A PROPER FITTING BRA
No other part of your body is as affected by gravity as your breasts. One of the most common reasons for sagging breasts is an ill-fitted bra. It is very crucial to pick a correct size bra, as it keeps the breast in shape and enhances your overall appearance. While trying on a bra, make sure that your breasts are not bouncy or spilling out. When the straps become lose, either tighten them or replace the brassiere. If you are not aware about your proper bra size, consult a professional and have your size properly measured.
First, check to make sure you are wearing the correct band size. Almost all of a bra's support should come from the bra band. If your band is too loose, the weight of your breasts will pull down the front of your bra. If you can fit more than two fingers under your bra band, the band size is too big. Try going down one band size and up one cup size. For example, if you are sagging in a size 36C bra, try 34D instead.
Although wearing a bra is considered good for the health and shape of your breasts , prolonged use of the same can put you at an increased risk of developing breast cancer. A tight bra designed to hold your breasts in place would curb the flow of lymphatic fluids within them. This in turn would cause the breast tissues to retain the toxins that would have been washed away by the lymphatic fluids otherwise. Increase in the levels of toxins inside the breast tissues could cause breast cancer.
The best way to get through this hurdle is to work out a ‘win-win’ situation wherein you wear a bra for not more than 12 hours a day. Remove the bra while sleeping or relaxing to promote blood and fluid flow through the region.
7. CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE
If you want your breasts to remain perfect, you would need to kick a few habits out of the door, with the main one being ‘smoking’. Smoking can
cause premature wrinkles to appear on the skin. It can also break down the collagen fibers present underneath the skin, thereby reducing elasticity with time.
Smoking would cause the same effect on your breasts . With time (and continued smoking), the collagen fibers and tissues present beneath the skin would lose its elasticity and start stretching. This would in turn cause your breasts to sag.
8.STAY AWAY FROM THE SUN
The harmful UV rays of the sun can seriously hamper collagen production in the skin in addition to destroying the existing collagen fibers.
With insufficient collagen to hold the tissues together, your breasts would start to sag before you know it. So keep your breasts covered from the sun at all times or apply a good quality moisturizer over them whenever you step out of the house.
9. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
According to experts at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals, the skin is comprised of cells that are predominantly made up of water. Lack of water takes a toll on the skin, and can make the skin over your breast look shrunken and dull.
When there is less water in your body the skin doesn’t receive the requisite amount and might look flaky, dry and get wrinkled. This could lead to premature aging of the skin around the breasts making it lose firmness and sag.
10 . NUTRITION
Always combine healthy eating with exercise, as this is the only way to reduce weight while keeping your skin firm. Improper weights can also cause your breasts to sag. Drastic weight loss in a short span of time would definitely cause your breasts to lose their fullness.
Nutritional deficiencies can lead to saggy breasts, as nutrients are needed for breast growth and support. A protein deficiency can result in the breast muscles losing their strength and firmness, thereby leading to saggy breasts. It’s essential to eat foods that are nutritionally rich and contain proteins, vitamins, calcium, minerals, carbohydrates and essential fats etc. Some of the foods that you need to include in your meals every day would includetomatoes, onions, carrots, cabbages, broccoli, cauliflower and garlic etc.
Pomegranate
This fruit is considered a wonderful anti-aging ingredient and can help prevent sagging breasts. Pomegranate seed oil is rich in phyto-nutrients that can lead to firm breasts.

5 MYTHS AND FACTS ABOUT SAGGING BREASTS
Your breasts droop as you get older
TRUE. That’s due to stretching of the Cooper's ligaments, the connective tissue in your breasts that helps keep 'em up and looking perky. “Like all the tissue in your body, they’re made up of collagen and elastin, which break down as you age,” explains Dan Mills, MD, vice president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In addition, as you go through menopause, dense glandular tissue is replaced by fat that’s more likely to droop, he says.
Wearing a bra can prevent breasts from sagging
FALSE. We hate to break it to you, but contrary to what Berry maintains, nothing can prevent the girls from going south. “A bra will hold up your breasts to give you the shape and look you want, but it can’t prevent further sagging, which is caused by age and gravity,” says Dr. Mills. In fact, one French researcher even suggested last year that wearing a bra encourages sagging by weakening the breast's supporting tissue. The one exception: a supportive sports bra . Running or other high impact aerobic exercises cause boobs to bounce up and down, which over time can break down connective tissue. So sports bras do help in that department.
The right exercises can keep your breasts perky
FALSE. All the push-ups in the world can’t reduce the droop—since breasts are made up of fat, not muscle—and so technically there’s nothing to tighten and tone. But
chest exercises can help improve the appearance of your pectoral area by strengthening surrounding ligaments, including Cooper’s ligaments, which in turn may make your girls look more lively, notes Anne Taylor, MD, a clinical assistant professor of plastic surgery at Ohio State University.
Breastfeeding can cause sagging
FALSE. A 2008 study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal concluded that breastfeeding isn't a risk factor for ptosis (that’s a fancy name for drooping). The real culprit? Pregnancy itself. (Weight gain during pregnancy can cause ligaments to stretch, which can lead to drooping later.) While you can’t avoid sagging completely, you can minimize it by making sure you stick to a relatively healthy weight gain when you’re pregnant, says Dr. Taylor.
Smoking and suntanning affect how your breasts look
TRUE. Lighting up is a significant
risk factor for breast drooping, according to the 2008 study mentioned above. The same can be said for any poor lifestyle habit that breaks down skin’s collagen—like
soaking up UV rays or eating a nutrient-poor, high-fat diet, notes Dr. Mills.
