How our age affects our life from 20 to 84 years

Age is more than just a number it play a vital role what is going on in our body, how and why we act differently when we clock certain age. It reveals hidden sickness.

Age play huge role unknowingly to us on the choice we make in life from relationship, career, education, skills, marriage, success or failure.

Every of our core being is written in age be psychological, physiological, physical, and emotional. The following are ways in which a influences and pattern our lives.

EDUCATION
Age 20s are generally characterized by completing your education, unemployment, underemployment, choosing a career path, and working long hours to move up the success ladder, decade that follows is more about enjoying your career success and financial success.

THE PEAK OF CAREER BREAKTHROUGH AND CREATIVITY
Ages of 30-39 it is regarded as a career highlights. It is the peak of breakthrough in science, art, commerce and any career path of your choice. That is when you have your biggest creativity especially in your late 30s(37,38&39).

Thus, if you are not happy with the career path you have chosen, you are likely to feel worse about work. Also, 30+ individuals are less satisfied with their job and more emotionally burnt out than people in their 20s and 40s.

PERSONALITY STABILITY
After age 30 your personality act like plaster on injury. It tends to stabilize with the emergence of adulthood.
More so, from childhood through the 20s our personality are evolving significantly and these changes slow as we approach 30. While our fundamental personality traits don't change much once we hit the big age of 30. That doesn't mean that we are unable to change our traits or we can't challenge ourselves out of our character and grow.
Just as our lives become stable, so does our character.

QUARTER LIFE CRISIS
Quarter life crisis begin around mid-20s to mid-30s. It tends to occur more often around age 30. That is the period of existential anxiety or worrying excessively and questioning caused by feelings of beign stuck in a job or relationship that is not working or frustrating.

Quarter life crisis creates a mix feeling of being outwardly different from the way you feel inward as if you are someone else deep inside you. Which triggers a discrepancy between your behaviour.

OPTIMISTIC LESS STRESS AND HAPPINESS
After the end of quarter life crisis is out of yours system, it is time for life's real joy.

According to a survey conducted in 2012 in Britain. It was discovered that 70% of British people over age 40 said they were not truly happy until age 33.

Also, more than half of survey respondent said that life is more fun at 33, 42% said that they were more optimistic about the future at the age of 33 and 38% said they experienced less stress at 33 than when they were younger.

So age 33 is enough time to have shaken off the childhood crisis and stress(naiveté) and the wild scheming of teenaged years without loosing the energy and enthusiasm of youth.

At age 33 our innocence has been lost, but our sense of reality is mixed with a sense of hope a 'can do' spirit and a healthy belief in our own talent and abilities.

TRUE COMMITMENT
By the time we are age 34 that is when we strike best work life balance and achieve true commitment at age 38.

FINANCIAL AND PERSONAL INSECURITY
30s is regarded as the best life's years free from financial and personal insecurity of 20s and not yet approaching the mid life challenges of 40s and 50s.
30s are said to be the best of both freedom and responsibility.

CHANGES IN YOUR BODY WHEN YOU CLOCK 30

STIFF JOINT AND BONE THINNING
We've all been there. You wake up in the morning and everything feels extra stiff, you're feeling more sore from yesterday's workout, and you start noticing more cracks and crunches as you walk, bend over or squat down. Say "hello" to the start of joint pain.

A lot of the time, joint pain involves inflammation caused by injury or overuse, and as long as we're allowing our bodies the rest it needs to recover and following a healthy lifestyle, then the inflammation will heal, but this often becomes harder as we get older.

While we feel the effects on our joints, we don't usually notice it happening to our bones. Bone loss begins in our 30s and as we get older and continue to progress through life, can even lead to osteoporosis if we are not consuming c calcium-rich foods and staying active.

SLOW METABOLIC RATE
As you age, your body will start to slow down. Same is the case with the metabolism.

This is the reason why various men and women experience a sudden surge in their weights and find out that losing weight is not as easy as it used to be. Hence, the reason why it is essential to be careful about your diet and exercise.

PERIODS FOR FEMALE
Women can expect changes in their menstrual cycles from their mid 30s as oestrogen and progesterone levels dip.
They might become shorter or longer, lighter or heavier or start earlier or later than usual.

Dr Shepherd told the HP some women can experience a perimenopause – the transitional phase before MENOPAUSE_as early as their late 30s.

Some menstruation changes are natural but she advises seeing a doctor if you are concerned as it could signal something more serious.

                      Fact
If you are  going to make a major career change, move to a new city, run a marathon, or have an affair, you’re most likely to do it when you’re about to turn 30.

WEIGHT GAIN
Shifting weight won’t be as easy as it was in your 20s and you might notice a loss in muscle tone as your metabolism begins to slow.

This is more noticeable in women than in men – and is often as a result of pregnancy when the body struggles to bounce back as EASILY.

STRESS AT WORK can also cause weight gain as a reactionary release of hormones can encourage you to store weight around your middle, nutrition and weight loss expert Jane MICHELLE.

But it’s not all bad – studies have shown you gain less weight in your 30s than in previous decades.

The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found that the average person typically puts on 1 to 2 pounds a year from early adulthood through middle age.

HORMONAL IMBALANCE AND LOWERED FERTILITY
Hormones also start fluctuating once a person hits the 30 year mark. Women see a major difference in their menstruation cycle while men experience a loosening of muscles. Irregular periods and hormonal imbalance makes it difficult for women to conceive. This is why majority women have to take the aid of medical intervention, in order to have babies in their 30s.

You've heard the saying, "Your biological clock is ticking," right? Maybe this is an issue with you and maybe it isn't.

Regardless of where you stand on the matter, though, that clock is definitely marching on.

Fertility BEGINS TO DECREASE IN OUR 30s, especially past age 35, and while many women can have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies past this mark, there are often additional health risks associated with these later pregnancies, including an increase in miscarriages.

Aside from our decreased fertility as we make our way through our 30s, some women even begin to see the start of perimenopause, also known as premenopause. Perimenopause is a very personalized experience for each woman, but often includes symptoms such as irregular periods, night sweats, worsening PMS, depression, mood swings and ANXIETY.

WEAK IMMUNE SYSTEM
Once you cross the 30 threshold, you are more at risk of age-related diseases like diabetes, cancer, heart diseases, chronic pain etc.

This happens because the immune system does not function as well as it used to and germs make take advantage of this deficiency.

Plus, the recovery time becomes longer and considerably slower. As a result, person is exposed to not only physical illnesses but mental ones too.

STRESS
There, I said it. Honestly, regardless of our current age, life presents us with stresses, but our 30s can be full of a whole new world of stresses in our everyday lives that we haven't yet faced.

We are learning to navigate more serious relationships and marriages, we are having babies and raising children, we are buying homes, we are beginning to think about our 401k and retirement savings plans, and we are likely to start facing the reality of aging parents. Even the mere thought of any of those things and I can feel my heart start to increase.

A part of our 30s and something I don't think is discussed often enough, is our need for self care and learning to manage our stress in healthy ways. Marcelle Pick, OB/GYN NP, SUGGESTS SETTING ASIDE"time each day to lower your stress levels." You will have to find what works best for you, but this could be lacing up your shoes and heading out for a run, curling up with a cup of tea and reading a good book, practicing yoga or meditation, or even heading to the spa for a massage.
Stress can manifest in OUR bodies in various ways, such as migraines, fatigue, trouble sleeping, depression, anxiety, stomach upset, and even drug or alcohol abuse so it is especially important that we learn to manage it in healthy ways while we are still YOUNGY

SKIN AGING
From skin to hair and nails, everything is affected once you enter your 30’s. You will notice more fine lines on your face, dull complexion, brittle hair, and yellowing of nails.

This happens because new skin cell formation slows down considerably, and will continue to do so with age.

SEX DRIVE
Women might think their libido declines as they get older but experts say it’s actually the opposite.

Researchers found that women aged between 27 and 45 had more sexual thoughts, FANTASIES and sex in general compared to those in their early 20s or going through menopause.

The study by personality and individual differences suggests this is due to women going through a fertility decline and so think more about sex and engaging in intercourse.

For men, testosterone levels decrease after 30, which can in some cases lead to a declining libido.

It happens at a rate of about one per cent a year, and by age 70, the decrease can approach 50 per cent.

Changes in this hormone also have an impact on increased body fat, hair loss, mood swings and erectile dysfunction.

DECLINING ORAL HEALTH
Oral health is also affected with age. Teeth and gums become somewhat weaker and the concentration of saliva starts dwindling too.

People who enter their 30s need to become more conscious of their health and adopt habits that provide power to their bodies.

Now that you have been forewarned against the changes you will experience, you can take measures to ensure your health is in optimum condition.

BLADDER WEAKNESS
Trouble with a little light bladder leakage could become a problem as you reach your 30s – especially for women who have had children.

Dr Shepherd explains that this is because vaginal labour can sometimes damage the muscles and nerves that control urination.
Urinary incontinence affects around 25 per cent to 45 per cent of women, so don’t be embarrassed to see a doctor.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH REVEALS GREAT THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO YOU AFTER CLOCKING 30 YEARS

THE LIKELY AGE TO MAKE BIG DECISION
First of all, know that it's not just you — there really is something daunting about approaching a round birthday.

Researchers are looking at people who were 29 (sure), but also 39, 49, or 59 found that they were more likely to make a big life change, good or bad.

They found that these "9-enders" were overrepresented in groups of people running a marathon for the first time, for example. So don't beat yourself up for obsessing about a looming birthday and try to channel that antsiness into something positive.

FACE IDENTIFICATION

People's ability to quickly and accurately recognize faces of strangers being shown to them a second time IN A LAB TEST peaked at age 31. So you identify new face easily when you clock 31.

BIG DISCOVERY
According to a study by the National Bureau of Economic Research, the average Nobel Prize winning research is done when someone is 40 years old.
If you don't think you're in line to win a Nobel, the study authors say the concept still holds — their findings mirrored those of other career studies. You can also make a big discovery in your career choice.
HIGH SALARY
Sure, your salary will hopefully keep rising to account for inflation, but will you actually be able to buy more with it as you age? According to analysis by HR company payscale, women earn the most when they're 39 at a median of $60,000.
That's partially because women's salaries start growing more slowly at about 30. Men's salaries peak when they're more like 48 or 49 at a median of more like $95,000.

UNDERSTANDING PEOPLE'S EMOTIONS PEAKS AT 40s and 50s
Scientists gathered about 10,000 people, showed them pictures cropped very tightly around the subject's eyes, and asked them to describe what emotion the person pictured was feeling.
They found a long plateau in people's 40s and 50s where the ability to correctly identify emotions based only on the eyes was strongest.
ARITHMETIC SKILLS PEAK AT 50
Sure, you learned your times tables in elementary school — but it turns out 50 years olds are best at answering arithmetic questions on the fly.
LIFE SATISFACTION PEAKS AT 69
According to one German Study, life satisfaction peaks at 23. But, after a dip in middle age, life satisfaction peaked again around 69 years old.
Even more intriguingly, actual life satisfaction was higher for people over 60 than people 55 and up had predicted they would feel five years down the line.
VOCABULARY PEAKS IN LATE 60s OR EARLY 70s
It turns out people's scores on multiple choice vocabulary tests keep climbing into their late 60s and early 70s. And you don't even need to sit around reading the dictionary all day to make it happen. Although it can't hurt.

MEN AND WOMEN FEEL BEST ABOUT THEIR BODIES AFTER 70
In a GALLUP SURVEY, an incredible two thirds of Americans over 65 said they always like the way they look. Men's self-perception appears to peak in their early 80s, when three quarters agree with the statement "You always feel good about your physical appearance." Women's rates of agreeing with that statement is a little below 70% as soon as they hit 75 years old.

MORE WISER
It turns out life really is the best classroom.A team of psychologists asked people to read about a conflict, then asked them questions about it.
The scientists then analyzed the responses for characteristics like being able to take someone else's point of view, anticipating change, considering multiple possible turnouts, acknowledging uncertainty, and searching for compromise.
They found that the oldest group they studied, people who were between 60 and 90 years old, did better than other ages on almost every count.
PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL BEING PEAKS AROUND 84
In  A STUDY published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, scientists asked people to picture a ten-step ladder, with the best possible life on the top rung and the worst possible life on the bottom rung. The oldest group they studied, of 82- to 85-year-olds, saw their own lives at the highest average rung number, about 7.
